Nice area,green,fresh air,
There is a Kamo river nearby that is a home to many fish and migratory birds. There are also many open spaces such as parks and ancient temple grounds with lots of greenery and fresh air.

I went to Kyoto because I have a passion for Japanese culture and handcraft. I work as a photographer in Denmark and when I got the opportunity to travel to Japan I didn't have to think twice. I chose Kyoto because of its cosy, old and traditional districts and because of all the green and spacious areas. Now I have been here for about five months and I get more and more happy for living here every day.

I like Nishigamo and it's good to have a base here. It's a nice and local area to get back to after a long day of work. Quick you will feel the warm, local atmosphere. I love to walk around residential areas, past fields, along the river or walk to the hills where you will find a beautiful view of Kyoto. In the streets you will meet the locals. When I arrived Nishigamo I met the owner of a cosy restaurant only a stone throw away from the apartment. He showed me pictures of Denmark in a magazine and showed me different kind of Japanese food. Every time I past his restaurant in the street he waved and smiled at me. Also when meeting him in the supermarket he took his time to stop up for a chat.

One late night in the same supermarket I experienced the Japanese kindness once again. I went shopping and when I had to pay I was out of cash money. I told the cashier about my problem and I was on my way to put all the articles back on the shelf. Then she just smiled at told me no problems. I will borrow you some money, she said. Then she gave me all my articles and also some extra money. She told me to come back the next day to pay her back. I was really surprised and happy. She saved my evening!

I'm really happy about finding Yamamote-san and his apartments on the Internet. Yamamote-san is a really nice and fair man who speaks English. His apartments are great value and you will find what you need for simple living. If I'm going to Japan again I know who to call.

"Nishigamo" is a great place to live. The people are very nice ,and even though it is a small town ,you will find your every day comfort. You must see the Imagine bar (near snowboard shop) and Mekhong restaurant.   Sweatom 21c is a comfortable mansion.  I stayed for 2 month through the JSPS program , doing research at the
Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics .

I lived in Nishigamo, Northern Kyoto City for a little over 2 years. The Nishigamo area is peaceful, scenic and has a semi-rural feeling. My place was 2 minutes from the river. The subway doesn$B!G(Bt go to Nishigamo, however there are 3 regular buses (number 37, 1 and 9) that connect to all over Kyoto City.

I was happy with my apartment there too. Mine was small but enough for someone living alone. I loved the Tatami (grass reed) mat flooring and I had a great view of Funagata (A giant symbol carved into a mountainside). The rent was reasonable and the refundable deposit (also reasonable) was a real drawcard, My landlord-Yamamoto San, was also a fair respectful guy.

Basically, check it out, it$B!G(Bs a good deal, laid back and a great base for exploring Kyoto.

`I enjoy living in the Suncrest Apartments because it is near convenient bus transportation and both the Kamo River and Kitayama Mountains are very close. I recommend it for people who wish to stay in Kyoto for a longer period of time because it is away from the hussle and bussle of downtown. Plus it is an ideal location for taking walks along the river or in the mountains.`

Hi,my name is Peerayot.I came to Japan ,April 2004 from New Zealand and have stayed for 1 year at Sweatom21C .
Sweatom 21C was an excellent place to live while in Kyoto.
Close to many shops, like supermarkets,24hr convenience stores, dentist, dry cleaners, and the Nishigamo bus terminal.
The Kamo river is only 2 minutes walk from the door.
Walks,runs,drinks and bqqs.
The apartment itself is quiet and tidy with plenty of sun through out the morning. A 6 tatami mat room ajoins a large kitchen and bathroom area. Outside is a sunny balcony and bicycle shed.
